150W 12V dual battery solar kit for camper / boat with controller and cable

This solar kit includes a 150W 12V dual battery system for campers and boats. It comes with a controller and cable. The kit features a high-efficiency, waterproof 150W 12V monocrystalline solar panel suitable for permanent outdoor use. It is designed to provide free electricity for charging 12V batteries to power various applications, such as in camper vans, motorhomes, boats, sheds, farms, as well as remote applications like telecommunications or monitoring equipment. Additionally, it can be used to supply direct power to applications not sensitive to changes in input voltage/current, such as electric motors or pumps.

The solar panel comes with 5 meters of special solar cable that can withstand high roof temperatures with minimal power losses. It is equipped with a pair of male/female MC4 connectors crimped on the end of the cable for easy connection to other solar panels, extension leads, or your existing system. The long-lasting, high-efficiency monocrystalline solar cells and the tough, sealed aluminum frame ensure consistent, free power for many years. The waterproof design allows the panel to be used in all weather conditions. Additionally, the panel features innovative 5 busbar solar cells which are more efficient than the 2, 3, or 4 busbar solar cells used in most other panels, extracting more power from the same surface area and resulting in a smaller overall panel, ideal for limited space applications. These solar cells are also a great choice for warmer climates, performing well even in high ambient temperatures. The kit includes a 10A 12V/24V dual battery solar charge controller designed to charge and protect two batteries independently, with automatic cut off to prevent over-charging. The controller uses PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) technology to increase charge acceptance and prolong the life of your batteries.

The PWM technology in this solar controller allows for the recovery of lost battery capacity. It is ideal for use in caravans, camper vans, boats, or any system with two batteries (e.g., engine and leisure battery) or battery banks. You have the option to set the initial charging priority, allocating a specific percentage of power to each battery. When one battery is fully charged, the controller will automatically divert all power to the other battery. 

Yes, this unit can work with only one battery. The controller will detect if there is only one battery connected and will pass 100% of the charging current to that battery. You can add a second battery later on. 

The unit comes with various protection functions, including preventing reverse current at night, overcharging, short circuits, reverse polarity, and more. It also features LED indicators, battery type selection (sealed, gel, flooded), and an RJ-45 socket for an optional remote LCD meter with a 10m cable. 

Furthermore, it incorporates a built-in temperature sensor to optimize the charging process based on the ambient temperature. If the controller will be positioned far from the battery or if the battery and controller will be exposed to different temperatures, it is recommended to use an external remote temperature sensor with a 3m cable. To connect the remote temperature sensor to the screw terminals of the controller, the green connector block on the end of the cable should be cut off.

Please note that due to our warehouse arrangements, the solar charge controller may be shipped from a different warehouse than the solar panel and therefore delivered in a separate package. This product is covered by a 1-year warranty provided by Photonic Universe, including a 1-year warranty for the solar charge controller and a 1-year workmanship warranty for the solar panel. Defective items will be repaired or replaced at our discretion. Additionally, solar cells are guaranteed to produce at least 90% of nominal power in 10 years after purchase and at least 80% of nominal power in 25 years after purchase. Regarding electrical connection, the solar charge controller included in this kit comes with a detailed user manual containing a wiring diagram and installation/operation instructions (see Documents tab). Be sure to read the full user manual before starting the installation. 

As for fitting, the solar panel in this kit can be fitted to a flat roof using metal brackets, plastic brackets, or various other methods.
